Screenity is an extension for Chrome-based browsers that records the screen and camera directly from the browser, with no program to install. The extension is free and open source under GPL-3.0, no sign-up is needed, and recordings are saved on your computer, not in the cloud.

What is free and what is paid
Recording, markup and local export are completely free. Alongside the extension there is a paid Screenity Pro service, monthly or yearly, which adds an advanced editor, captions, share links and a cloud library. If you only need to record and send a file, you do not need Pro. One more limit: the extension works only in Chrome-based browsers.
