A numerical computing environment with an emphasis on control engineering and signal processing, which also includes Xcos — a graphical block-diagram editor for simulating dynamic systems. That is the main difference from Octave: if you need to design a controller and watch the system response as a block diagram, rather than only writing a script, you get both capabilities in one package.
