ZoomIt — The Complete Guide: Zoom and Draw on Screen During Presentations and Design Reviews

ZoomIt from Microsoft Sysinternals is a small tool that sits in the system tray and works with hotkeys. One keystroke zooms into part of the screen, and you can draw arrows and rectangles and add text — exactly what you need when presenting a drawing or a model and want everyone looking at the same detail.

What you get

In a design review

On a video call it is hard to point at a small detail in a drawing with the mouse. With ZoomIt you magnify the detail, circle it and add a note, then return to the normal view. It is free, closed-source software under the Sysinternals licence terms: you may install and use any number of copies, including at work, but you may not redistribute it, rent it out or use it for commercial software hosting services. The macOS version is separate and more limited.

The bottom line

ZoomIt is a small tool that makes any presentation or design review clearer — free and with no complicated setup.
