Autodesk Fusion Personal Use — The Complete Guide: Cloud CAD/CAM for Home Projects

Autodesk Fusion for personal use is a free edition of Fusion, a cloud-based CAD/CAM environment that combines parametric modelling, assemblies and toolpath generation in one file. It is excellent for learning 3D modelling and for a personal project, but it is a reduced edition with a restrictive licence.

What you get

Who may use it, and what is limited

The licence is only for individuals working on personal, non-commercial projects who earn less than 1,000 USD a year from the activity. It may not be used in your primary job, inside a company or for commercial training. It is granted for three years and must be renewed. Compared with the paid version, CAM is limited, 2D drawings, import and export and electronics design are reduced, data management is single-user, and there is no cloud simulation or rendering. Paid work requires a full subscription.

The bottom line

For a hobby or for learning, Fusion for personal use is a convenient entry point. The moment a paying client appears, move to a commercial licence or an open tool.
