OpenModelica is an environment for modelling and simulating multi-domain physical systems in the Modelica language, developed by the OSMC consortium at Linköping University. Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, thermal and control components are connected in one equation-based model and solved together, which is essential where the domains interact: drivetrains, energy and HVAC systems, processes and mechatronics. The package includes the OMEdit graphical editor, the Modelica Standard Library, simulation and plotting, FMU import and export for co-simulation with other tools (OMSimulator), and interactive notebooks for teaching. It also suits courses in dynamics and control.
